The old adage “if you fail to plan – then plan to fail” could not be more applicable then when speaking about crisis communications. Regardless of the scope of the crisis, having an effective plan in place and routinely exercising the plan can be the difference between quick resolution and irreversible brand damage. 

Developing an Effective Crisis Communications Plan (CCP):

Any number of crises can impact an organization and the key to survival is the development of a comprehensive crisis communications plan that includes all of the key elements you need to have at your fingertips as a communicator in a crisis.  

In this session you will:

  • Learn the key elements to included in a crisis communications plan;

  • Be provided samples on how to write elements of the plan; and,

  • Receive a workbook to guide your organization to the successful development of a plan. 

Crisis Communications Exercises:

Once a plan is developed, it must be practiced so that your team becomes familiar with the contents and understands the policies and procedures that are contained within the plan. This supports identifying gaps in the plan and ensures everyone understands their roles and responsibilities in a crisis.

In this session you will:

  • Participate in a custom-designed scenario for your organization;

  • Identify gaps and a process to close them; and

  • Build team confidence and awareness.
